Hi! I’m Mark.

As a somatic voice and movement integration specialist, based in Berlin, Germany, I work with performing artists, singers, and speakers of all ages and levels, covering various genres and styles. My performance background includes opera, oratorio, choral music, musical theatre, and dance.

I studied vocal performance at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where my teaching journey commenced after a medical emergency that left me in a coma for weeks and forced me to relearn how to use my voice. This incident sparked my interest in the connection between the body, mind, and voice.

Losing the ability to use my voice was a frightening experience, but it opened up new opportunities for me. My fascination with the voice led me to explore beyond classical voice, incorporating practices like the Alexander Technique, Estill Voice Training, Linklater Voice, nervous system regulation practices, Body-Mind-Centering, yoga, pilates, meditation, physical theatre, and dance. By delving into these diverse disciplines through research and self-study, I discover ways to integrate insights from different sources, allowing us to deepen our understanding of our voice and ourselves.

Currently, I am pursuing an MA in Voice Pedagogy at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, after many years of practical teaching experience, to expand into somatic voice research. Here you will find my courses and resources in development.
